In Touch
St. John’s offers several ways in which parishioners, family and friends can keep up to date with our ministry and in touch with our community.
On Eagle's Wings / OEW (print newsletter; online pdf)
On Eagle’s Wings, our parish newsletter, is published four times per year: March, June, September and December. The editor is Sarah Guthrie. OEW offers longer items additional to those which appear in the Worship Bulletin. In addition to the online edition, print copies are available at the Duke and Water Street entrances.
The deadline for submissions is the Tuesday prior to publication, but articles may be submitted at any time.
Worship Bulletin and Sermon (print pamphlet; online pdf)
In addition to the Parish Notices which are announced at the conclusion of worship, the Worship Bulletin contains all of the material necessary for worship together with a section of parish announcements and more. The Worship Bulletin appears with a weekly Taking Worship Home supplement edited by André Lavergne.
The Worship Bulletin is prepared by our Parish administrator under the direction of our worship leaders. The deadline for the submission of parish announcements is Tuesday at 10 a.m.
The Sermon is provided online ahead of the service for those who wish to read along or refer back to it later.
Midweek Check-In (weekly emailer)

Midweek Check-In is a weekly (typically Wednesday) emailer devoted to activities in the parish and items related to our wider ministry. It includes parish announcements, news of deanery and diocesan events and more. Our Wednesday Check-In is the best way to keep up to date with parish activities.
To subscribe or contribute, send a note to the church office. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday at 10 a.m.
Worship Together (weekly emailer)

Worship Together is a weekly (Saturday evening) emailer which serves as an introduction and aid to Sunday worship. It includes links to our video livestream, Worship Bulletin, Taking Worship Home (Bulletin supplement), sermon and more.
Worship Together is the best way to prepare for Sunday worship. To subscribe, simply sent a note to the church office.
Parish Calendar (online)
The Parish Calendar offers a monthly overview of parish activities including worship, ministries, events, concerts and more. The calendar is maintained by our Parish Administrator who also receives booking requests.

Angus Sinclair was appointed Director of Music of St. John the Evangelist on February 1, 2023. Having graduated in 1981 (Honours B.Mus.) in organ performance from Wilfrid Laurier University, he went on to distinguish himself as a church musician, recitalist and accompanist touring in both Canada and the UK. For over 40 years Angus has served parishes and congregations throughout Southwestern Ontario as director of music. He experiences his present appointment to St. John’s as a welcome homecoming, both spiritually and musically.
As our parish musician, he provides both support and leadership so that a variety of parish programs can find musical expression and attract participation. When our handbell choir is in season, he is one of our ringers. At parish dinners, he provides popular piano music for the guests to dine by. For both worship services and concerts, he will rehearse and accompany vocal and instrumental soloists from our congregation on piano, organ, or even accordion.
